TENDER & CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT · UAE

Your UAE tender requires ISO certification. What should you do next?

Do not start by buying certificates or generic documents. First extract the exact requirement: standard and edition, accredited-certification wording, legal entity, activities and locations in scope, submission deadline, certificate deadline and whether an implementation plan is accepted during bidding. A short clarification now can prevent an irrelevant certificate or an impossible project schedule.

WHEN THIS HELPS

Situations we can help you resolve.

  • The tender names ISO but not the standard
  • The bid closes before certification could realistically be completed
  • A parent company has a certificate but the bidding entity may not be covered
  • The certificate scope may not match the tendered products or services
  • The requirement mentions accredited certification or verification

PRACTICAL DECISION SEQUENCE

Work through the question in a useful order.

Use this sequence to clarify the requirement and organise the next decision. Confirm standard-specific interpretations with the authorised standard and an independent certification body.

01

Copy the exact clause, annex, scoring criterion and submission deadline into a requirement register

02

Confirm the standard, edition, accredited-certification expectation and whether equivalent evidence is accepted

03

Check the legal entity, trading name, activities, addresses and sites that must appear within the certification scope

04

Separate mandatory bid documents from conditions that apply before award, mobilisation or service commencement

05

Ask the buyer a focused written clarification when the requirement is ambiguous

06

Assess current processes and evidence before committing to an implementation or audit date

07

Obtain separate written scopes from the consultant and independent certification body

08

Prepare a credible roadmap, responsibilities and progress evidence when the tender permits certification in progress

DIRECT ANSWERS

Questions about this resource.

Can we use another group company’s ISO certificate?+

Only if the certification statement and scope clearly cover the legal entity, site and activities relevant to the tender. Do not assume a group relationship automatically extends certification.

What if the tender deadline is too soon for certification?+

Ask whether a documented implementation plan, consultant appointment, gap assessment or certification-body application is acceptable at bid stage. Do not represent work in progress as a completed certificate.

How do we check whether a certificate is genuine?+

Review the certificate holder, standard, scope, sites, certification body, accreditation information, status and validity using authoritative sources or direct confirmation.

Can LETA issue a letter guaranteeing certification?+

No consultant controls an independent certification decision. LETA can provide a factual consultancy scope, readiness findings and implementation roadmap without guaranteeing the audit result.
