ISO 9001:2026 UPDATE · UAE

ISO 9001:2026 is at FDIS stage. Prepare now without rewriting a system that works.

As of 18 August 2026, ISO lists ISO/FDIS 9001 as the final draft of the expected sixth edition and says it is expected to replace ISO 9001:2015 in September 2026. The final published text and formal transition arrangements still need to be confirmed. UAE organisations can prepare by strengthening process ownership, evidence and improvement while avoiding speculative document rewrites.

DIRECT ANSWERS

Questions about this resource.

Has ISO 9001:2026 been published?+

Not yet as of 18 August 2026. ISO lists ISO/FDIS 9001 as under publication and says the new edition is expected in September 2026. Confirm the live ISO record before making an edition claim.

Should we rewrite our ISO 9001 procedures now?+

No. Keep effective controls and evidence in place. Review the final published requirements and formal transition guidance before changing documents solely for the revision.

Can we still be audited to ISO 9001:2015?+

Confirm the applicable audit edition and timetable directly with your independent certification body. Do not assume a transition deadline until the relevant official arrangements are issued.

Can LETA certify the revised system?+

No. LETA can support transition planning, implementation and internal audit. An independent certification body conducts the certification audit and makes the certificate decision.
